UK based latex fashion brand Darker Desires have consistently created and designed approachable and adaptable latex clothing, with an eye on both seasoned and experienced latex wearers and the launch of their new ‘Shadow Collection’ continues to expand on this mantra. Speaking exclusively to Latex24/7, Darker Desires owner Talie talks to us about the new collection and the ethos behind the designs and sublime creations.

“Inspired by a hidden city of starlight and shadow, The Shadow Collection invites the wearer to embrace darkness as a source of power”, Talie tells us as she explains her initial vision for the range. “A gothic palette of black, smoke grey and deep metallic violet enhances dramatic, sculptural silhouettes.”, the Darker Designs owner continues to discuss, “and these are contrasted by translucent layers with touches of gold adding a celestial edge.” This palette was clearly chosen to reflect the moniker, taking dark and moody colour tones to enhance the look and style of the entire collection and which brings a uniformity and sense of cohesion which clearly illustrates the basis of the collection.

But that’s not to say that the vibrance and all-round sexiness of the designs are masked and dulled by the tones – quite the opposite in fact. With eye-catching and striking additions, including wing-inspired and scalloped bat edging, structured corsetry and layering of opaque and translucent latex, ‘The Shadow Collection’ encompasses a captivating and conversation-starting ensemble of latex garments which shows an extremely high-level of unity and creative thought.

Continuing the conversation, Talie emphasises these traits and underpinning of the range. “At the core of The Shadow Collection is craftsmanship and intention”, the designer tells us. “With modular and detachable components”, providing accessibility and versatility for the perfect mix-and-match outfit and which are combined with “gold and silver hardware and celestial accents” and incorporates “precision laser-cut detailing to add refined finishes”, ‘The Shadow Collection’ is “designed to sculpt, contour, and command attention.”

Comprising skirts, bandeaus, skirts, bodysuits and bras within the range ensures there is a curated selection of options and Darker Desires have clearly elected for an affable approach to the new collection. This is no clearer than in the flowing design of many of the garments, as Talie tells us. “Sculpted silhouettes are engineered to contour the body while maintaining movement and comfort – blurring the line between couture and costume.”
The inclusion of ‘anatomic green’ into the collection is a welcome addition. Adding a ‘radioactive’ green to the palette was an easy choice for the Darker Desires designer. “A singular disruption of vibrant green emerges within the collection,“ she tells us, “symbolising a dangerous, untamed power that glows even in shadow.”

The standout garment within the collection surely has to be the Starfall Bodysuit and Maxi Skirt. Crafted in shimmery pearl latex, the pairing are the ideal combination ensuring a “celestial sense of drama” thanks to its semi-transparent look and astral details which is sure to create an ethereal full-length look.
