Founded in 2018, HEVEA is an independent latex brand inspired by music. From classic country to 70’s rock and punk, HEVEA has continued to thoughtfully create unique, limited edition high-quality latex designs which embody this style, and ensure that those wearing the garments will surely stand out from the crowd.
And when HEVEA owner and chief designer Zoë received a message from one of her favourite Country stars she just had to say yes. “It’s a DM that most designers dream of: a musician (who you have admired for years and seen at parties in LA) sends you a message on Instagram.”, Zoë tells us in an exclusive chat about the recent collab. “They ask if they could borrow your designs for a photoshoot that their new country band is doing in Nashville, TN.”, the HEVEA owner continues. “Instead of mailing the items to some hotel or record label office, you decide that the easiest option (of course) is to just fly down to the city of neon lights and honky tonk yourself.”

The group, The Midnight Cowgirls, conceptualized by songwriter and bassist Jennie Vee of Eagles of Death Metal, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and vocalist Blaise Dahl, and drummer, vocalist and composer Marlhy Murphy had long been fans of HEVEA and contacted the designer about working together on some outfits for upcoming tour publicity. Concepts and ideas flowed back and forth, and before she knew it, Zoë was on her way to Tennessee and the iconic home of Country and Western, Nashville. But this time roles were reversed, as Zoë commented to us.

“My first trip to Nashville in May, 2023 saw me walk down the historic Broadway strip for a photoshoot in my baby blue rhinestone latex ‘Nudie’ suit and visit The Grand Ole Opry. This time around, it was me behind the camera, styling a country act in my authentic latex western wear. It was a dream come true on so many levels.”
Combining modern interpretations of classic western apparel, band members were adorned in trousers, hotpants, tops and jackets, many with a traditional western fringe detailing for that authentic Country & Western look.

But the impact HEVEA latex designs is having on the world on Country music doesn’t just stop there. Joining The Midnight Cowgirls on their upcoming tour performances is fiddler and pedal steel guitarist Andrea Whitt (better known by her stage name of Boho Bunnie). Being a long standing fan of HEVEA, Boho Bunnie has been repping the Canadian designers work for some time. With recent performances at Desert 5 Spot LA, HEVEA and Boho Bunnie have already built a close working relationship – including an appearance a two night residence performing with legendary DJ Moby.
